Emily, Where Did You Get That?

It was the Spring of 1977, and I was sick in bed in our little apartment in Provo. Emily, age 2 1/2, was playing nurse. She brought me a drink of water which I quickly drank. I gave her the cup back, and she left the room, returning almost immediately with another cup of water for me. I asked her, "Emily, where did you get the water?"

She replied sweetly, "From the potty."

  1. Thanks, Dad. Either you are wanting me to not feel as old as I really am, or I made you drink toilet water long after I knew better, but I was never 2-1/2 in the spring on '79 - that was Melissa!
